Vaginoplasty is a procedure to narrow the vagina in the female genitalia. Vaginoplasty can be performed on patients who experience discomfort due to vaginal widening as a result of childbirth or age.

During the consultation, your overall health will be assessed. Your current illnesses, medications, and previous surgeries will be discussed. A detailed examination will be performed. The size and quality of the tissue in the area to be treated will be evaluated.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia (numbing of the lower back). It takes about 1 hour on average. An incision is made in the back wall of the vagina to remove excess mucosa, and the muscles are tightened.

After surgery, once the effects of anesthesia have completely worn off, you may be discharged on the same day if you wish. Pain is minimal in vaginoplasty surgeries. We prescribe painkillers and antibiotics after discharge. We recommend 4-7 days of rest.

You can see the results of the surgery immediately.

The results of the surgery are permanent.

Postoperative dilation may occur again due to subsequent births.

Every surgery has risks. There may be early or late complications related to anesthesia or surgery.

Bleeding or infection may occur in the areas treated during the early postoperative period. Due to the moist nature of the area and the difficulty of wound care, the wounds may open. These openings usually close spontaneously with dressing changes, but in very rare cases, additional intervention may be required to close the wound due to excessive separation. These risks are increased, particularly in smokers.

Since the wounds must be completely healed before resuming sexual activity, a minimum of 6 weeks must be waited.
