Rhinoplasty, the most common cosmetic surgery performed in our country, is the reshaping of the nose when the person is dissatisfied with its shape. In addition to correcting deformities, this surgery can also resolve structural breathing problems.

Your general health condition will be assessed during the consultation. Your current illnesses, medications you are taking, and previous surgeries will be discussed.

A detailed examination is performed. The size of your nose in relation to your face, any hump, the tip of your nose, and the angle of your nose to your upper lip are evaluated. The relationship of your nose to your entire face is assessed. Any breathing problems you may have are evaluated.

Photos are taken before every cosmetic surgery, and the surgery plan is finalized immediately before the procedure.

If our surgery is performed using the closed technique, there will be no visible scar on the outside. In the rare cases where we use the open technique, there will be a scar on the part of the nose called the columella (the part that separates your nostrils). We provide detailed information.

The scar left by the surgery will be permanent. Although it will be more noticeable at first, it will fade within a year.

Based on your expectations regarding the shape of your nose, we can decide during your preoperative examination on a shape that is suitable for the rest of your face and will not cause breathing problems.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It takes approximately 2-3 hours. Your nose is shaped according to the plan made before the surgery. At the end of the surgery, internal (silicone splint) and external (cast) molds are placed on your nose, which will remain there for 1 week.

We recommend staying in the hospital for one night after the surgery. Pain is minimal to nonexistent in rhinoplasty surgeries. Swelling and bruising may occur on the face. Applying cold compresses in the early stages minimizes these symptoms. We prescribe painkillers after discharge. We recommend 7-10 days of rest. One week later, we remove the casts inside and outside your nose and apply a bandage. We remove this bandage at the end of the second week.

You can see the results of the surgery immediately, but the swelling associated with the operation will take about 1 month to subside, and it will take 6-12 months for the nose to take its final shape.

The results of the surgery are permanent.

Every surgery has risks. There may be early or late complications related to anesthesia or surgery.

Bleeding or infection may occur in the early postoperative period. Asymmetry may occur due to swelling in the nose. Numbness may be felt at the tip of the nose. These are usually temporary complaints. However, permanent asymmetry may occur in rare cases. According to scientific data, secondary interventions requiring minor or secondary surgery are necessary in 1 out of every 10 patients for various reasons.
