Vaginoplasty is the process of narrowing the vagina in the female genitalia. Vaginoplasty can be applied to patients who are uncomfortable as a result of the enlargement of the vagina due to birth or age.
The pre-operative examination is the assessment of your general health status. Your current diseases, medications, and previous operations are checked.
Then your detailed examination is performed. Excess skin in the area where the surgery is planned and the quality of your tissue is evaluated.
The operation is performed under general or spinal anesthesia (feeling numb from the waist down). It takes an average of 1 hour. An incision is made on the back wall of the vagina, the excess mucosa is removed, and the muscles are tightened.
After the operation, after the effect of the anesthesia is completely finished, you can be discharged on the same day if you wish. Pain is minimal in vaginoplasty surgeries. We recipe painkillers and antibiotics on discharge. We recommend resting for 4-7 days.

It is possible to have enlargement again due to post-operative deliveries.
In the early surgery period, conditions such as bleeding or infection may be observed in the treated areas. There may be openings in the wounds due to the moist area of the site and the difficulty of wound care. Although these openings usually close spontaneously with dressing follow-up, very rarely, it may be necessary to close with an additional intervention due to excessive separation of the wound. These risks increase especially in smokers.
Since the wounds must heal completely before the return to sexual life, it is necessary to wait at least 6 weeks.
