The pre-operative examination is the assessment of your general health status. Your current diseases, medications, and previous operations are checked. Then your detailed examination is performed. Excess skin in the area where the surgery is planned and the quality of your tissue is evaluated. Before each plastic surgery, your photos are taken and the surgery is planned by drawing just before the surgery.
- What is done in the pre-operative examination?
- Where will my scar be? Will it be permanent?
After the operation, your scars will heal so well that they are not visible. We inform you in detail during our examination. The scar left in the surgery will be permanent. Although it is more obvious at first, it will become vague within 1 year.
- How is labiaplasty surgery performed? How many hours does it take?
The operation is performed under general anesthesia or with spinal anesthesia (feeling numb from the waist down). It takes an average of 1 hour. Excess skin and fat tissue are removed by making an incision on the inner lips, and the tissues are reshaped.
- How long will I stay in the hospital after the operation? Will I have pain? When will I recover?
After the operation, after the effect of the anesthesia is completely finished, you can be discharged on the same day if you wish. Pain is minimal in labiaplasty surgeries. We recipe painkillers and antibiotics on discharge. We recommend resting for 4-7 days.
- Is the result of the surgery permanent?
The result of the surgery is permanent.
- Will I have to sag on my inner lips again after labiaplasty?
We do not expect sagging to occur again after the surgery.
- What are the risks of the surgery?
Every surgery has risks. There may be early or late complications due to anesthesia or surgery. In the early surgery period, conditions such as bleeding or infection may be observed in the treated areas. There may be openings in the wounds due to the moistness of the site and the difficulty of wound care. Although these openings usually close spontaneously with dressing follow-up, very rarely, it may be necessary to close with an additional intervention due to excessive separation of the wound. These risks increase, especially in smokers. Since the wounds must heal completely before the return to sexual life, it is necessary to wait at least 6 weeks.
