One of the significant signs of aging in the facial area is the loss of volume in bone and fat tissue and the loss of elasticity in connective tissue. Along with a decrease in skin quality, sagging and skin folds form on the face.
Thread lift procedures are primarily aimed at eliminating sagging. They can also be used to define the jawline in younger patients or to lift the eyebrows to the desired position.

Thread lifts can be applied to many areas depending on the need. The purpose here can be summarized as eyebrow lift, mid-face lift and tightening, jawline definition, and neck lift. It can also be applied to correct existing asymmetries.

Strings can be classified as dissolving strings and permanent strings. The choice depends on the need, purpose, and area of use.
The most commonly used non-absorbable suture is silicone suture, which does not stretch. Due to its permanent effect, these sutures are preferred wherever possible, namely in the midface, chin, and neck areas.
In areas where permanent threads are not suitable for various reasons, dissolvable polylactic acid threads are preferred. These areas are typically the eyebrows and sometimes the neck.

First, appropriate planning is carried out according to the patient's needs. Depending on the intensity of the procedure, which areas will be treated, or the preference of the patient or doctor, it can be performed under general or local anesthesia. Procedures performed under local anesthesia can be carried out in a clinical setting, but those requiring general anesthesia are performed in an operating room. The effect is visible immediately after the procedure.

It depends on where the thread is placed, what type of thread is used, and whether the procedure is performed under general or local anesthesia. Therefore, it is necessary to follow your doctor's recommendations after the procedure and take your medications regularly.
For the first 1-2 days, cold compresses should be applied, and for another 2 days, the treated area should not be exposed to water or washed.

Swelling and bruising may occur in the treatment area, which usually subsides within 7-10 days. You may also experience pain, particularly in the temple area, which supports the weight of your face, neck, and eyebrows.
Depending on the placement of the threads, they may be visible on the skin. There may be a risk of infection, as a foreign object has been inserted.
Asymmetries may occur.

The effects of non-absorbable threads are permanent. However, keep in mind that aging is an unstoppable process, and your face will continue to age even under the effects of the threads. Therefore, approximately 5-7 years later, it may be necessary to place additional threads in your face or undergo other rejuvenation procedures.
Absorbable threads are effective for an average of 1-2 years. However, their effect does not completely disappear when they absorbed. The fibrous tissue formed due to the reaction they create in the body prevents the effect from completely reversing. Nevertheless, it may be necessary to support the eyebrow area with an additional thread after an average of 1-2 years.

The thread application is reversible immediately after application. All we need to do is release the threads from where they are attached. It is not always necessary to remove the threads completely for the effect to wear off.
